4th U.S.-India Energy Partnership Summit
TERI-NA in association with Yale University organized the 4th edition of the U.S.-India Energy Partnership Summit themed ‘Stimulating Technology, Trade and Development’ on 13th and 14th May, 2013. The Summit brought together leaders from the arena of government, research and business from the two countries to find ways toward a sustainable future.
Discussions emphasized the importance of ushering in new models and refining existing models of clean energy production and delivery, in addition, the to the need to engage scientists and entrepreneurs in order to bring research advances from the lab into the field. A number of speakers also discussed the need for the private sector to participate in the development of clean energy technologies.
Financing clean energy development was a major topic of discussion, with various speakers calling for the need for more diverse and more creative financing models for renewable energy projects. Ensuring that available technologies are used to their full potential in combatting climate change and expanding energy access depends greatly on how easily these technologies can be financed.
